About Tyler Cagle

As a native son of Abilene, Tyler knows all too well about the unique struggles, interests, and operation of the Big Country. Tyler grew up in Abilene, having attended Johnston Elementary, Franklin and Mann Middle Schools, and finally graduating high school from Abilene High in 2012. After graduation, Tyler attended Baylor University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English. From there, Tyler received his law degree from the University of Dayton, graduating with a specialization in Criminal Law. After passing the Texas State Bar Exam, Tyler returned home and began working as a prosecutor in the Taylor County District Attorney's Office. In 2021, Tyler left to practice Criminal Defense and finally hung his own shingle in May of 2022.

Using the experience he gained as a prosecutor, Tyler has represented clients accused of crimes ranging from First-Degree Felonies to simple Class C Misdemeanors. His specialization in criminal law coupled with his dedication to his craft has led him to successfully defend his clients throughout the Big Country. Tyler works as an appointed criminal defense attorney as well, providing legal services to those who can't financially afford an attorney. As the current president of the Big County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Tyler has the resources, relationships, and respect of his peers to fiercely and respectfully advocate for his wide range of clients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter, reading, writing, rooting on his Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Baylor Bears, and enjoys playing basketball and volleyball with his friends throughout Abilene.
